For his YouTube channel, Naokiman Show analyzed the cover and content of The Economist’s "The World Ahead 2022" publication. Biota Studios designed the styleframes and used the cover illustration as the visual reference for the entire project.
My goal was to create an animation that matched the collage style of the cover, evoked the publication's printed origins, and emphasized the future as a theme—all while delivering a package of 10 intro titles and additional assets in a very short timeframe.

To match the digital collage technique, I used masks and mattes to break up the transition images. To evoke printed paper and add an analog touch, I used animated paper textures and certain elements at a lower frame rate.
Because I had to do the work in a very short amount of time, I built a modular system for the titles where the primary variation lay in each one's entry transition. I sourced these transitions from an asset library, but I selected them carefully to match the graphic style and modified them to reinforce the collage concept.
